Since number 3010 arrived in October, the unloading process experienced every weather condition known in about half of an hour. Regardless, the boxcar was quickly unloaded in the McEwen yard and placed on a pair of former Colorado & Northwestern freight car trucks that were borrowed from the Sumpter Valley Railroad.

A few minutes later and the snow has been replaced by glorious sunshine. This photo gives a good overall view of the condition of number 3010 prior to the start of its restoration.
Back on an active rail line after nearly fifty years on the ground, the boxcar heads off to the carshop.
